I copied a 2-hour movie from a Blu-ray disc and saved it as a *.mkv file. The file is 22.1gb in size.
I then copied the file to a 128gb MicroSDXC card and put it in my S5.
The video plays perfectly in my S5, using MX Player and the required DTS codec.
However, I'm a little concerned because it takes a huge toll on battery life, as well as make the back of the phone extremely hot. I assume it's because the raw video from the Blu-ray requires a lot of processing. Am I harming the phone somehow?
I guess I can convert the video down to 3 or 4gb on my PC then play it on the phone, but that usually takes 5 or 6 hours for a 2 hours movie.
