how can i stop a verizon software update after hitting install?

i have a verizon gs5 4.4.4 nk2 that i just rooted i was using it to search on how to freeze the cdm or ota so it wouldnt be able to update new software when i was scrolling through my browser the software update opened and i hit install on accident, so i took the battery out and now im stuck does anyone know how to restart the phone without it installing the new update?

Welcome to Android Central! Oof. So you actually forced a shutdown in the middle of a system update? If it was actually installing, then you probably bricked the phone. Are you able to boot into Recovery or Download mode?

Let it continue. It should get to about 25%-27%, then "fail" because the phone is rooted. (It's supposed to - updating a rooted phone could brick it, depending on what you did while rooted. A good update does 2 checks - is this the stock ROM and has it ever been rooted? If the first answer is no, or the second one is yes, the update process stops at that point.)

Then freeze the update app if you don't want the LolliFlop flea circus.
