Battery draining fast on Galaxy s5

After 4.4.4 update my galaxy s5 will need to be charged 3 times a day just to make it through one day. It would last an entire day before, not sure what is going on now. Does anyone have this problem or have a solution? I have rebooted multiple times, I would rather not do a factory reset.

Re: Battery draining fast on Galaxy s5

Welcome to Android Central! Try a cache partition wipe, which can help after a system update: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10404

If that doesn't help, then it would help to see some battery stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

SD cards can also get corrupted sometimes during a system update, and a corrupt card can contribute to battery drain. Try unmounting the card (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and reboot.
