Why won't Google Play accept my credit card?

Google Play won't accept my credit card

I have recently purchased my first android phone for my husband (Samsung Galaxy S 5 active) - always had iphones before. I am trying to buy a game for him (monopoly) but I cannot get Google play to accept my credit card. I have tried two different cards but when I get to the save point, it tell me there has been an unexpected error and to try again. I have tried this several times over several days, but I keep getting the same message. The information I am entering has been matched to the invoice, so it is correct. Any thoughts?

They don't have an account that handles that card? There's a glitch in the system?

There's a Google group on Google Groups. Maybe someone there actually works at Google and will catch a question you post and give you an answer. All I can do is guess.
