Why can't I get my Galaxy S5 to connect to public wifi?

Galaxy S5 Wifi Issues

Hi,
My wifi connection works great with my home router and at my public library (where I don't need authentication) but anywhere else where I need to logon to wifi (three establishments now) , I can't connect. My password seems to get taken and from the wifi screen it looks to be connected initially but then keeps trying to connect but never actually does.

You open a web browser, try to go to a page and the browser sends you to a login page? You log in and keep the browser open? that's how it should be done. If that's what you do, it's not the phone's fault. See if a nearby hotel, or some other place that needs a sign-in, and that someone there can sign into with an Android phone, will let you sign into their wifi just to test your phone.
