S5 Lollipop Alarm Not Saving

I've been having an issue that was just a nuisance but this morning I decided I didn't want to deal with it anymore.

When my alarm goes off in the morning (smart alarm set for 3 minutes prior or regular one) and I swipe the red X to turn it off as opposed to swiping the green check to snooze, it removes the alarm from being set again. I have the widget on my home screen and this morning, for instance, the T for Tuesday was no longer highlighted green as being a reoccurring day for my alarm (this happened after turning off alarm from smart alarm so the actual 7 AM alarm never went off).

Any idea how to fix this? I didn't have this issue on KitKat.

Personally, I never cared for the stock alarm. I am using Timely - it's free - and it works like a champ. Different alarms for every day of the week if you like - 6am on weekdays and 8am on weekends, M,W,F are different from T, Th - it is FANTASTIC and there are snooze and off swipes that don't affect the next day's alarms. It's simply perfect for my needs.
