S5 won't turn on.

My wife was using her S5 and it just turned off. Now it won't start up or anything. Doesn't even recognise that a charger has been plugged in. Tried a hard rest plus booting it into the start up menu but nothing. Is this a common problem?

Welcome to Android Central! Batteries can be defective, or can fail early if they're used pretty hard (i.e., drained to near zero every time). Try a new battery. Seems to me but if it was only a battery problem, when plugged in wouldn't it start/ or turn on?
