bad battery life

this has gotta be very very annoying.s5 battery life is just getting worse and worse.watching youtube could usually last me for 5 hours non stop now it has only been 40 mins and this is happening.

First, Youtube and the screen use a lot of battery, so even though the screen is accountable for only 5% of the usage, that's 5% of a lot of usage (compared to, say, the alarm, which uses almost 0%).

Second, look at all the rest of the things using power. Since Youtube, at 6%, is the highest user, you probably have dozens of things running in the background - that you don't need. Install SystemPanelLite to see what's running. Install Greenify to keeps apps you don't need running from running.

Third, tap the graph to get to the next page, then post a screenshot. (If your Mobile network signal is all yellow or tan, you have a weak signal and that kills the battery.) So do so-called battery savers and system (or RAM) cleaners. If you're running anything by Cheetah Mobile, uninstall it.

You must be on an older version of Lollipop as the Wi-Fi connection was fixed in the OC7 release, 16 March, along with quite a few other issues and now, on the latest OE5 release it is blazingly fast! See, here.

I am betting that bigstevec is on Verizon. It seems like they have REALLY screwed the pooch on their updates, and because of the carrier bloatware updates are a LONG time coming.

I know from my standpoint here in Canada (on Bell), my upgrade to 5.0 has been stellar. I would LOVE to see some of the additional updates that ironass is gloating about (jerk... LMAO!) that Sammy is putting out for the International versions, but I have accepted the fact that I won't.

My battery life is quite good... and my phone never gets hot unless I've got it plugged into the car running maps, bluetooth and/or streaming music.

I'm no expert, but I had downloaded a launcher and battery saver app and my S5 battery life diminished. I deleted all the apps that were supposed to extend battery life and it's back to normal. Just sayin'...
