Contact list corrupted

I have the standard contact list that came with my Samsung Galaxy s5 Verizon edition. I noticed that there are some items in my contact list that are links to other files. How do I consolidate all these files in one fell swoop.?

Can you elaborate on that? Are the links included as a contact note? What do you mean by consolidating the files? Do you mean you want the files to be part of the contact itself?

It's hard to explain. There's an item in the menu that talks about linking contacts. When I click on link contacts , the other items show up. I'm trying to delete them so that I only have one contact for person. I hope you understand

Select any contact that was linked, and tap Menu. Is there an option to Unlink or Unmerge the contact? You might also have to choose the Edit option first.
