Why can't my S5 find my car's Bluetooth?

My S5 cannot find my car's bluetooth

When it scans it shows "no nearby devices"

Welcome to Android Central! Which car? Is it a factory-installed system, or an aftermarket? Do you have to initiate pairing from the car as well?

Do you have to make the car "findable" for it to be found (that's typical with Bluetooth devices)? Read the manual.

You may also need to turn on the "make my device discoverable" during the pairing process. I've had to do that for a couple of different devices (I drive a lot of rental cars for business purposes).
