Why does my S5 screen turn on by itself?

S5 screen turning on by itself

Hi

The screen on my S5 has developed the ability to turn itself on by magic!

I've checked smart stay is turned off and it is.

I can have it sitting on my desk at work next to me with a blank screen and then next thing I know the screen has turned on.

There's no notification for anything but I get the a bubble on the screen (like if I was to touch and slide to unlock).

It's been doing it for a long while now and it's really starting to annoy me.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Came here hoping for a solution also. Mine does this as well. Running Lollipop on the Sprint network.

Go to
Settings -> accessibility -> Dexterity and interaction -> make sure air wake up is off

Did all that and made no difference. What did the day after this was also turning off swipe to screen capture.

Now all is quite fine in the world again.

Update.

Just discovered that the Peel Remote app will also wake the phone with just a slight bit of movement. If you leave it running in the foreground.
