Mum has a Galaxy S5, bought unlocked in the UK and on Android 5.0.

The SD card in the phone is recognised and shows when I check storage in the settings menu.

It won't show up as an option to save to when using the standard camera app. An option to use the SD card appears in tutorials online to allow you to select the SD card, but it doesn't show up on Mum's phone.

Is there an option I'm missing or an update required to enable this?

Hello and welcome to Android Central Wardatrigger!

In Settings, switch from, "Easy mode", to, "Standard mode", and then go to Camera > Settings and scroll down. There you will now find the option to change the Location that images are stored.

Something that "EVERYONE" seems to overlook - when you're in your settings in the camera, you need to scroll down a page to see the "location" setting.
