why won't my Galaxy S5 make sounds when I tap a number

When I try to enter numbers the sound tones for each number does not work. I try to enter numbers as requested by touching the number but no sound is made to verify the correct number has been pushed.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean the tones from pressing numbers on the dialer keypad? Open the Phone app, tap More>Settings>Call Settings, and look for the option for DTMF tones. Make sure they're on and set to Long.

Do you have dialing keypad sounds turned on? Settings, Sounds, Other sounds, Dialing keypad tone.
