I managed to grab the file of my notes from the Colornote app & email it to myself so that I can transfer them to my new phone (Galaxy s5)
I was SO close & ran into another dead end. When I opened it, it was all this crazy gibberish. I realized that it's in ".doc" format from Word 97-2003.
So I tried converting it online to .docx (Word 2010)
Nothing again.
What can I try from here??

* And just for the sake of info, I was easily able to transfer the app itself to the new phone via some fancy Smart Samsung app, just that none of the actual notes I made transferred with it. & there are many.

Just to be clear--are you using the same version of Colornote on the S5 to open it?

Also, I moved this post to the S5 forum, since that's the phone you're trying to read it on.

Was the app updating on the old phone on a regular basis? If so, they should still be the same version. I was also checking to see if you were using Colornote to open the document, or some other app like Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

I tried to use Word & Google Docs.
I can't recall for sure now if it'd been updating all along. So many of my apps do automatically, so its *possible*.
I'm not sure if CNote even gives you an option to open other documents though.

What happens if you install ColorNote on the new phone and try to open the note file that way?
