My Galaxy S5 phone updated and now I am not able to see any files when I plug into my computer.

Because I cannot see my files I am unable to download photos from my phone to my computer. This problem occurred after the phone updated.

I think it has to do more with the "usb connection type" changing.

When you plug your phone into your computer, wait for it to connect then swipe down from the top notification bar on your phone.

You will see a notification "Connected as a....." with a type of connection beside that. Yours may be different than mine.

Tap that notification and another window will pop up asking you for the connection type "Use USB for". Be sure you select MTP, or "transferring media files" or something similar. There will be other options like "photos", "charging", etc. BE SURE to tap the "MTP" option. That will allow you to see your whole phone.
