Default Email Setting

I'm not able to set Inbox by Gmail app as my default email even though I've cleared the defaults, uninstalled or removed other email apps or addresses. I had recently cleaned up my phone by clearing caches and disabling apps, I'm not sure what I've done. I'm not able to swipe over to downloaded and running apps once I'm in settings and applications like I used to. It's just one page and gives me a drop down. I am not able to select any new default email and nothing is popping up giving me any options. Help! I have screenshot to show.
