The timer for my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo does not work

Hello, the title says it all. Here's a photo of what my timer looks like:



As you can see, both the START and RESET are greyed out, making it not able to be pressed... and I don't know why...

Things I've tried:
Restarting
Closing all programs

Is there any reason why the timer is "shut off" like this? Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! The Timer is for a countdown, so you have to set an amount of time first to start the countdown. Swipe up or down on the hours, minutes, or seconds, to set a time to start counting down from, then tap Start.

If you want the feature that starts at zero and counts upwards, that's the Stopwatch.
