Why wont my samsung s6 phone connect to home wifi when it is already connected?

Under settings i am connected to my home wifi network which is working and yesterday my phone was connected. Today i have message saying sign in to wifi and when i tap it, i get
Web page not available
Http ://connectivitycheck.android.com/generate_204

Could not be loaded because
ERR NAME NOT RESOLVED

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have an S6 or S6 Active? You posted in the Active forum.

Are you certain the phone is trying to connect to your usual home wi-fi network, or is it trying to connect to some other open network nearby (like "xfinitywireless," or a network associated with a nearby store or restaurant)?
