Why isn't my Music and Gallery recognizing new files on my S6 Edge?

Music and Gallery are not recognising new files on S6 Edge

I have connected my phone with the USB and transferred my photos and music to my phone. Unfortunately, when I open the Gallery, I can't see any of the pictures that I know are there. I can see the files if I use My Files to browse. It is the same for my music. Any ideas?

Rebooted many many times

If you tap on an image in My Files it comes up with Open With options so if you choose Gallery it might then also find the others in that location. If that works could ft the same with the music files

Open My Files App and verify that you don't have a file called .nomedia on your Device Storage root folder or in any of the folders where those files are stored. If you have that file, just delete it.
