Phone won't work when fitted to case

I took my s6 edge out of the genuine Samsung case I have and just went to clip it back in the case and now the screen turns off and won't work, take the phone out and nothing works using the touch screen only the power button and home button I have to reset the phone using the - button and the power button when the phone is.out the case it works fine

Anyone got any idea's why?

Welcome to Android Central! When you're putting the phone into the case, could you be inadvertently pressing and holding the Power button for more than a few seconds? Pressing it for about 10 seconds can force a shutdown.
