S6 Edge stuck on error message "Use Emergency recovery..."

Noob here.
Looks like a my kid's phone had a failed update.
Stuck with "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." message when you plug phone into PC.
Smart Switch doesn't recognize the phone to even start the recovery.
Already tried reloading USB drivers. No change.
Kies, Windows, etc. cannot see device.
Nothing else works (multi button combos, reboots.). Phone won't turn on.
Is there another way to access phone USB to re-flash?

Welcome to attend forums. Not that I am aware of. Is there anyway you can bring it to your carrier? They may be able to help reflash the ROM or help you contact Samsung about this.

I have the same problem, did you ever get it resolved. Please help.
