Following on from my previous question regarding the software update that keeps coming up on my phone to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and me being very scared of doing it in case precious files of my late husband are lost, a lot of you have suggested backing my phone up. It is backed up on the phone itself, but I would like to back it up using my laptop......unfortunately though, as I am not techno minded in any way shape or form, I haven't got a clue how to do this.....I know that I need to use a USB cable from my phone to my laptop, but after that i'm totally lost 
......what do I need to do on my computer?....and after ive done the update, if some of the data has been lost, how do I then get it off my laptop back on my phone??.......I apologise to anyone reading this if I sound like a complete numpty, but as ive already said, I am not techno minded in any way.....I hope someone can help me :-
p.s....can I back everything up on my laptop from my phone?...i.e. messages, photos, music
