S6 Edge can't connect to operator.

AC Question

Hello,

I have a Samsung S6 edge, which is factory unlocked, and it was working and all good before, but when I found out the previous owner had the phone rooted, I did a factory reset to the newest android version and now it recognizes that a SIM has connected, it even knows which provider it's from, but it can't connect to an operator and the phone lets me use Emergency services only.

Help please.

I've tried restarting, deleting cache, factory resetting AGAIN (with newest android, since that's the only thing smart switch lets me do) and I even got a new sim card.

Not working, I get a NAND start and then it fails..

I got ripped off either way, the phone was rooted and unlocked, it turns out the original owner blacklisted the phone by not paying the bills, and now im just stuck with it since the owner took my money and fled. No idea if there's anything to do.

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, that totally stinks.:( Was it a private transaction, or was it by chance through eBay? If the latter, eBay protects the buyer, and has good dispute resolution policies.
