Gorilla Glass 4 on the Galaxy S6 = Not that tough.

I think it should still survive most small tumbles since it will most likely hit an edge when it falls and not fall flat on the glass like both of these drops were. I was planning on having a case anyways even before this though.

Which is why I have to get a case...don't want any risks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of gorilla glass to help resist scratches better as opposed to being more resilient to shattering?

Still workin'. So no problem.

Torn jeans, cracked phone, unwashed hair.

Livin' the life.

'S cool.

(I must be trippin')

Well Gorilla Glass 4 was supposed to withstand falls much better as according to their testing...seems they need to do some better testing

Look at the surface they dropped on to. It has lots of tiny sharp peaks.
They should have dropped on flat surfaces to be fair.

I think you're right. Funny how you have this test where the glass shatters and then there are two others where it survives unscathed, I'm specifically thinking of the one where the woman whips it against the floor a few times. Moral of the story is no phone is unbreakable, especially when cement is involved.

Otterbox cases are too bulky, I'm sure a slimmer TPU case will offer good protection as well

There's no point in my mind to purchasing a high tech thin phone and wrapping it in a turd. Won't happen with me, my phone's endured probably 50 drops over it's lifetime (3 years) and countless construction site abuses all in a thin case. It's been dropped in gravel, asphalt, concrete, wood, snow, dirt, and it's still ticking. It's had paint, thinset, compounds, and all other construction junk all over it.

Now, the phone looks like a complete disaster but it still works!

Bulk is relative. It varies depending upon the user. Waiting for reviewers to comment before cancelling my pre-order. ROFL
