So I've had my T-Mobile Galaxy S6 for 9 days and I noticed a dark shadow or spot on the right side of the screen. I thought it was the lens or the plastic film covering the lens. I was wrong and it appears the issue is with the sensor itself. T-Mobile is sending me another unit.

This is an expensive piece of tech. So make sure you check everything the first days you own it to ensure you are not stuck with a defected one.

Good point... its probably always good form to go through and fiddle with pretty much everything... from the camera, to NFC, bluetooth, etc.... you never know what might have a fault. Even the most well built phone with the highest initial quality ratings will have its defective units.

Do me a favor, turn on your front facing camera in a dark room and let me know if you're seeing random blue dots on the screen. It's happening to a couple people over on XDA and I'm trying to figure out how widespread it is. uploadfromtaptalk1428809697246.jpguploadfromtaptalk1428809717036.jpguploadfromtaptalk1428809729329.jpg

I don't have the blue dot issue. But I have heard of these issues.

My issue is a shadow spot as seen in the sample picture attached. The lighter the background, the more noticeable

Thanks for the heads up on this potential issue. After reading the post, I immediately did some checking on my s6 and it seems ok.

On my front facing camera as well. Bought at Verizon, they told me i have to go through Samsung. After a live chat, email and a call finally got them to issue a service ticket. Unfortunately my phone has a crack in it, so they may try and pull a warranty invalid on me i (never been dropped, my guess is from bending in my pocket, yes i have a case).

In the email they said it wasn't a known issue then link me to a troubleshooting guide for the issue... This site wont let me post links as i just registered just add the http deal to these

support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=527950&modelname=SM-G900V&modelcode=SM-G900VZWAVZW&session_id=V2nLFkQNLYDvSyXQPZQvSLkRpLpkpnJbBCXnGL9ZjK2TPbwXBTp6%21-1610719882%211920440247%211430136648644&from_osc=&homeid=29189

Researching the issue further not only brought me to this forum but it shows me that this has been happening since the S3. It's a camera sensor defect.

I really hope they just send me a new phone and don't give me any crap over the crack. I'll keep you posted on the results, they said it will take 9-11 days.

Is the blue pixel that's showing up in the picture in the exact same spot everytime you take a picture or is it random.

I was happy with my phone. Then I read this thread. I have blue dots as well on front camera. Verizon white model. Looks like I have calls to make today...

Haven't checked all our ATT S6 phones but one is definitely doing this. Dots show up in the same place each time from what I'm told. That or it's a poltergeist. 😱
