The discussion would involve owners of the device who are offended by the "horrible battery life threads" suggesting turning off useful features.

It's as simple as that.

Don't understand. Check you post syntax. I haven't asked anyone to turn off useful features. There is clearly an issue affecting Google Play Services giving some owners dreadful battery performance. This issue can be exacerbated by poor carrier signal strength. Could it also be due those on CDMA carriers? As I understand it, those devices have one radio now for voice and data so could the signal radio also be struggling? Whatever the cause, it is unfortunate and will hopefully get fixed soon. There are a great number of legitimate issues that will sort themselves out soon. A number of us acknowledge that there are issues and that we are trying to help with screen shots and commentary but there are those that have repeatedly posted who complain just to complain and jump, those trying to discuss and help. Bring up legitimate issue is very different than complaining and whining when you get answer that you don't want to hear.

Here's my battery from today. I got it activated around 1:30 PM and used the crap out of it. My apps were already downloaded, but that was it. I had to add my info and log in to everything. I have quite a few accounts syncing, too. My cell standby is insanely high, but the SOT isn't bad for the amount of use I had. Screen brightness is between 30-40% and wifi has been on all the time.

Hi, my s6 battery life on the average has only been 10 hrs. Last night, I unplugged the charger after reaching 100% at 1am. When I woke up after 5 hours, my battery was already 73%. Wifi was on. This isn't normal right?

Just when I was getting good battery life, Google Play Services is now eating my battery! This is so frustrating, what is wrong with Google??!! Why do they do this to us?

I really don't believe that the cell standby is the problem. I think lollipop mis reports cell standby and screen battery drain. Look at the guy above, 6+ hours screen on time and only 10% battery used by screen and 35% used by cell standby. Really?

Do you have the latest version of Google Play Services?

Yeah, I do. The problem started before I updated it, so I decided to get the latest version and nothings changed. I've now stopped syncing even more Google services. I think it must be a lollipop issue, I can't believe Google have released such a half baked product.

Did Play Services update automatically? Try a reset and see if that helps. PS may come back with the original version so wait for it to update automatically. Sorry you are going through this.

I updated it manually hoping it would help. I'm not going to reset my phone until I decide to install a custom rom which hopefully helps with battery. For now I'm going to wait it out. I mean, the battery is adequate for me right now, I'm just worried about abnormal days when I need to use my phone a lot more than I do normally,But in those days I'll just carry around one of those battery packs.
