Welcome to Android Central! Try Repeating Notifications, although I'm not sure how well it will work on the S6.

Recurrent Notification Manager might work better.

Had the same issue, finally found the correct answer - without downloading another app...

settings...accessibility. ...notification reminder.

It will work once and then not again without turning off the notifications and then turning it on again. The repeat notifications sound is not the same as the original text message ringtone. So far this has not worked near as well as my old phone did . :'(

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get maybe one text a day, but it's usually somebody who needs something. Was going crazy trying to figure this out.

I agree about the Notification Reminder in Accessibility - it works, but it's not the same tone (it's the default notification tone on your device, so I then tend to ignore it) and a bit inconsistent.
I am using Textra now and it has a setting for repeating notifications, up to 50 times (every two minutes). Works like a charm. Plus Textra has so many other options that make it so much better than the default app.
