Sprint 5.1.1 Update Notification sound issues

Not sure if any one else has run into this and found a solution.

After Today's update, My phone does not make a sound with Text Messages( Stock app) or Gmail App. They appear on screen, just no sound. All other notifications work fine. I went into settings for both apps and selected a sound, which gave a test, but just don't work when a notification is received.

Also did a reboot.

Any help is appreciated.

After an update like this I usually do a full factory reset and start from scratch. I know it's a pain in the neck , but it usually works out any kinks.

Do a wipe cache partition in Recovery Mode and see if it gets better, if not, then I'm sorry to tell you but you will need to do a factory reset.

Sometimes the notification sound can accidentally be turned off. To check it, just click the volume button and hit the gear icon.
