Wifi Auto connecting on Verizon Galaxy S6

My Verizon Galaxy S6 is auto turning itself on and auto connecting to wifi networks. I have all options in the advance settings for wifi turned off and it still auto connects.
Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.

Any body having same issues?
Is this a bug and any known fix?

Thanks

Not to sound like a jerk, but why don't you just turn wifi off until you need it? I can't test it right now, but it seems that while connected to a network you have an option to enable/disable automatically connecting. Something like "connect automatically or ask every time".

I didn't turn it on to begin with, that is the issue.
Wifi was off and it auto turns on and connects.

all options are turned off and there is not clear cut auto connect option on/off switch any more in settings

You have to turn off the connection optimizer. Because you have already linked the two, your phone will override the settings to ensure the phone is running at its best. You should find this in Settings -> Mobile networks. Hope this helps!

I don't have that setting in mobile networks.
I am on Verizon, isn't that setting for Sprint customers?

Thanks
