How Do I Get My Map Navigation to Work from My Calendar?

I just upgraded from an S4 to an S6. I've become quite reliant on using my Google Maps Navigation app from my Calendar app. On my S4 it worked perfectly. I could open an appointment (or a scheduled event) and click on the address (hyperlinked) I had put into the calendar and it would automatically open to my Google Maps app and start navigation from my current location.

Now on my S6 the when I use the address in the Calendar app it gives me the address with the word MAP next to it. When you click on MAP it opens a map but it doesn't appear to be Google Maps and it certainly is not set up for navigation purposes.

What am I doing wrong? Or did Samsung eliminate this feature? (And if so, WTF... it was the one of most valuable features of my S4). Is there anything I can do besides copying and pasting the address into Google Maps so that it will be efficient and effective like it was in my S4?

Please help? Thanks

I had this same issue. I've found that as long as I put a complete address with a comma only between city and state the address text itself turns into a blue link that opens into Google Maps. Don't click the button labeled 'map', but the text itself.

If the address is complete enough there will also be a button labeled 'navigate' that appears just above the map image at the bottom of the calendar. This will go straight to navigation.

Hope this helps someone.

I've had the same problem, too. I've entered full and complete addresses, but still no luck. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I'm on day 7 of using my new Galaxy S6 Edge and I encountered the same problem. I upgraded from an S4. After reading a lot of information I've discovered that the calendar that came with the phone is not a google calendar. I'm going to call it a Samsung calendar although I'm not positive because under Manage Calendars it's called "My calendars" listed under Device. My S4 had the google calendar mobile app. When I first activated my new S6 it sync'ed my google calendar with the Samsung calendar. So for the past 4 days I've been struggling with many events I've entered trying to get the location map navigation to find the addresses I've entered.

Here's my solution to the problem:
Go to google play store and install the Google Calendar mobile app. Then just use this app instead of the Samsung calendar. The navigation feature works just as good as it did on my S4 phone. Happy again!

Same. I think I'm gonna give the google calender a shot and see if it helps.

What I've found is that the map function can't find the address as it was entered. If I click on the Map hyperlink I get a message saying "No results found for ....." I tweak the address until it is found in the Map function. Adding USA to the address seems to be a real key fix. Once it finds it in the map, click on Done and then Save the calendar event. When you access it again it will be a hyperlink and there will be a Navigate hyperlink below the address and above the map.

Berg,

You are a lifesaver. This works for sure. Samsung, if you're listening, your calendar needs some work...

FYI... the address format that seems to work is as follows:

123 Main St City, ST 99999 USA (i.e., 5400 Bruce St Pleasanton, CA 94588 USA)

Note: no punctuation between the street and city and the Country seems to be critical. This will turn the address into a hyperlink to the Navigation app.... Stupid, but this seems to work consistently for me.
