I just bought a Samsung S6 and I understand that Verizon is rolling out wifi calling.

My sons and my girlfriend all have iphones. I was getting tired of my iPhone and wanted to make the switch to android. I was reluctant simply on the basis that if I was out of range of a phone connection I could not text them unless we were all using a third party app like WhatsApp, etc. I like to use the baked in texting apps that come with the phones. With Verizon's announcement yesterday, my understanding is that once the update is rolled out tomorrow or so, I will be able to send text messages to those three people using the native texting app even though I don't have a phone connection, but do have wifi. Is that correct?
