Why is my S6 not working outside US?

[AC Question]

Purchased Samsung GaIaxy S6 from Verizon in the US. I have installed SIM card from local carrier outside US. Mobile network setting is on Global. The phone is supposed to come "unlocked."

Can you see the carrier name appear when you open your notifications tray?
