Why Does Galaxy S6 Marshmallow Update Require Password & Fingerprint?

A

AC Question

After I turn my Galaxy S6 on/off after the Marshmallow update it's forcing me to enter my password prior to using my Fingerprint. Is there any way to turn this off? It's extremely annoying!

It says "Your phone was restarted and requires you to enter your password..."

Thank you!

I believe this is device encryption or is an additional security feature of Marshmallow in conjunction with the ImPrint API (Android's native fingerprint recognition). My Nexus 6P has the same requirement after a power cycle.
