Got my new S7 Edge today, opened the box, inserted the Sim card and it wouldn't power up. Discovered the battery was totally depleted.

Charging it up now and hoping it has no issues. Never had this happen before.

Anyone else ever had this happen and if so did the device have issues?

Is that what doa means? Dead on Arrival?

DOA doesn't refer to the battery, it refers to the entire device. You would say dead on arrival for a phone that you receive and does not turn on even after charging/having battery left from the box (essentially broken from the factory).

It charged up fine and so far no issues. Just never bought a phone that wasn't at least at 50% battery and was concerned.
