GS7 Edge Silver Paint peeling

So I guess the color of the home button is painted on. Mine is peeling up. Anyone know if warranty would cover this? I don't have an account with AT&T so they wouldn't help me. Samsung said sure you can send it in but if the phone has water damage you'll have to pay to fix it. I didn't buy the phone new so who knows. What do you guys think?

Yeah that doesn't look like peeling paint, but rather a really bad scratch. I'd try to replace it if I could.

It's the lighting. To tell you the truth the silver usually looks goldish.

I have this fear. I've conditioned myself to use the back button and task switcher to navigate. Ya it's weird, but this would drive me crazy.

Samsung said they would if it was a manufacturers defect. I guess its a gamble to send it off and be without a phone for 2 weeks. They wouldn't say yay or nay for sure.

Did you ever send it to Samsung? Picked my phone up this morning and noticed this! It does look like physical damage but I've never dropped or done anything with my phone to have it look like this!!! I've had galaxy smartphones forever now and never had any issues with the home button .
