S4 to Edge - SD card question

I will be switching from the S4 to the edge. My S4 currently has a sd card in it. Will I be able to take that card and put it in the edge and still have all my pictures, videos etc...? Or will the card need to be reformatted when it goes in the edge?
Also - Which is the best way to backup all my data to my computer? Kies isn't working b/c I have so much data.
Any help is appreciated - TIA

Use smart switch to move all data from s4 to s7e.. on the safer side backup s4 on pc/mac via smart switch then migrate

Kies is discontinued and only applicable for older devices

Thanks for this info. I am doing this now. Smart Switch says I have 10GB/24GB Internal memory & 6GB/29GB External memory. It has been an hour and it still says "data is being backed up" & "Loading backup lists" but it hasn't moved from 0% and has been on the same folder. Is this a normal amount of time? I am clueless when it comes to this stuff. :-/

Hi I also moved from an S4 to a S7 Edge. I just popped my 64gb memorycard out of the S4 and put it straight into the S7E and have had absolutely no problems to date.
