Can I take myself off of a group message that I did not start. I am only one of many addresses'

not sure but i also HATE when i get added to stupid group messages. My wife and her sisters along with the mother in law used to include me in their goofy texts. stupid text alerts , one right after another every time each one responds. I finally got them to stop including me in them. I texted the group and told them to erase the group text and start a new one without me included or i would start sending massive amounts of porn pics and videos to all of them all through the night and day. LOL , it worked !

I have not figured out a way to get out of a group text but to tell the original sender to create a new group without me included. You can also at least mute the conversation so that you are not bothered by all the alerts and interruptions.

Tell the ones sending group messages to use textra and select the following. Then replies only go to the one that sent the group message.


Edit... Have them check the texting app settings, it might be in other texting apps also, I just know textra has it and it works awesome.

Depending on which messaging app you use, there should be a setting at each thread where you can mute the conversation. I am in a group family thread and most of us mute the conversation and check the thread at will.
