GPS turning on by itself

The GPS in location turns on by itself, I normally keep it in locating method to Wi-Fi and mobile networks but lately when the battery drains faster I see it is also set to GPS,Wi-Fi and mobile networks. Has anyone else seen this or have a fix? I am sure Google is doing it. I am not sure where to change it.

Most of the time, this happens when an app asks you if you want to Improve Accuracy. If you say yes, this turns on GPS, as well as wi-fi scanning. If you tap the Improve Accuracy heading in the Location menu, you'll probably see Wi-fi Scanning turned on -- turn that off as well.

Now watch very closely for any prompt in the next few days that asks if you want to Improve Accuracy (usually from Google Maps). Always decline that -- it shouldn't keep popping up after you've declined it once. Recheck the location settings in a few days, and see if GPS has been turned back on.
