sound through auxiliary cable one speaker only

Used my phone to play music in my car this morning through the auxiliary cable and I'm only getting music through my front left speaker. Tried using YouTube and iHeartRadio and restarted the phone and the issue is still present

Are you sure that you have a stereo cable that you are using and not a mono cable? They do sell two kinds of cables. Once I almost bought the wrong cable.
