I Had been textra as my go to messaging app but decided to go with the stock text messaging app for a bit. I'm trying to avoid redundant apps. Also, I actually like the layout of stock app over Textra. Just noticed the stock app prohibits me from sending multiple pictures via mms whereas Textra allowed me the ability to share as many pics as I wanted to at once. Is there a general phone setting or a specific setting within the stock messaging application I'm overlooking where I can increase the file size limitations.

Welcome to Android Central! Attachment filesize limits are set by the carrier, not the app, so I wonder if Textra was allowing you to attach multiple pictures because it perhaps would send each photo individually, rather than grouping them together in one message. If you have access to another phone, try sending multiple pics via Textra, and see how they show up in the recipient's messaging app. I suspect they'll show up as sequential messages, each with a single photo.
