Serious question for y'all out there. Am considering picking up an S7 - but I'm not much of an expert when it comes to SD cards. SO...

Can anyone give me some helpful hints or input on the best brand/size/speed to get? Any insight would be particularly helpful!

Thanks in advance!

I went with a sandisk extreme. the phone is capable of 2160p @ 30 fps recording so I want an micro sd card that is rated for that.

Sandisk has a lifetime warranty! I wouldn't get anything less than 64, I went with 128, and 3 is better than 1.

I've heard that the 1080 recording at 60 fps is the best hands down. Samsung pro + uhs 1 128gb card for me

In a Samsung device, I recommend Samsung's media cards. It may seem illogical, an SD card should be an SD card, but I've lost three different-branded cards in Samsung devices. Two in phones, one in a tablet. My Samsung cards have shown none of this behavior. They are also competitively priced for Class 10 cards, which are the only ones I run.

I went with a 64GB Sandisk Extreme Pro. I had a problem with a Sandisk in my Galaxy S4 a few years ago. Sandisk's customer support and warranty was top notch. I will only purchase Sandisk because of the way they handled it.

I'm coming from a Lumia 950 and already had the Lexar 128GB 633x card. It's pretty fast and haven't had any issues with it.

I did buy the UHS-II U3 64GB Lexar 1000x card but had all kinds of problems with it. Not sure if they fixed it yet, so I'd stay away from those.

Samsung Pro Plus 128 GB. Fastest UHS-I U-3 card on the market and it's on sale right now on both Samsung's site and Best Buy for $89.99. They'll price match in store so I went and picked one up yesterday.

Wow. I paid 99.99 at best buy. They owe my 10 bucks. Lol

How do the PNY U3 cards compare? Amazon has one "PNY U3 High Performance 64GB High Speed MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-I, up to 60MB/sec Flash Memory Card (P-SDUX64U360G-GE)" for $19.99 which is why I ask. They also have "PNY U3 Turbo Performance 64GB High Speed MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-I, up to 90MB/sec Flash Card (P-SDUX64U390G-GE)" for $24.99.

I've rediscovered my old micro sd cards. Loving the music on it which I thought I had lost when I had to factory reset a previous phone and laptop! Also found video footage of Christmas long ago! Must have been the S4 I took that footage with. Video was awful lol!

I preordered from Best Buy just to get the 64gb card. I think the 64 plus 32 phone storage should be good for now!

Supposedly the up to 60MB/s is still throwing up numbers in the 90s when it comes to read speed. I'd just save the $5 and go with the first one.

The PNY cards can't compare to the the speeds the Samsung Pro+ cards can hit, but it's way cheap and a huge bang for the buck.

I got the SanDisk Ultra 128GB Class 10

On that note, is anybody else experiencing a wake lag (a full 2 to 3 seconds)? I've concluded that it's because of the SD card (on the fact that it happens when I have it mounted vs when it's not)

I bought this today, kind of impulsively.
SanDisk Pixtor Advanced 64GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-3 Memory Card Gold SDSQXSG-064G-ABCCA - Best Buy

$39.99 regular $149.99 (yeah regular price doesn't mean much) this week. Probably overkill to get UHS-3, I don't think I'll do 4K video but I wanted to make sure the phone works with highest speeds.

If I don't use it for my phone much I can use it for a camcorder I'm probably going to buy.

Ditto.

I'm sure I'll never come close to filling it up, as I store everything on the cloud, but it's nice to have the space and speed if I ever need it. Funny, I'm the same way with cars...
