Sucky battery fix for the Galaxy S7

Hey guys I found that if I switched networks from automatic to lte /CDMA the battery life improved dramatically. I hope it helps for someone else. Sprint gs7

Yeah that can help for carriers with lte/cdma. Especially if you are in areas of weak signal

If you're on Sprint what else is there besides LTE/CDMA? Trying to imagine what else the phone would choose? Unless the CDMA option is EVDO only, blocking 1X.

I went from having to plug my phone in after 7 hours to getting 15 hours on a charge. So that makes me happy.

Don't know if that was for me lol. If it was, what happened is i responded to your post asking what carrier you were on, then i reread your post and saw that you said sprint so i deleted my post lol!

At any rate, i remember my first 4g phone was a motorola razr maxx, and i had an app to shut down 4g and run 3g because Verizon didn't have good 4g in my area, so it actually saved a lot of battery not constantly searching for 4g. Nowadays i get great service and wouldn't want to give up 4g.

Correct. AT&T and T-Mobile (here in the US) use GSM. Verizon and Sprint are the only 2 major networks that still use CDMA.

Good tip. Although I'm on the Note 5, changed from Global to CDMA/LTE for Verizon. Battery life has been good for me with Lollipop and Marshmallow, but I'll take more if a setting change like this will help.

the es7 edge doesnt last as long as my note 4 did. was with a buddy today who said the same. he had a note 3 before.
sometimes when i'm using the phone, it seems the battery drops a percent every minute or so.

There is also a global mode. In no or very low signal areas, it might try to connect to gsm networks if unable to connect to sprint's network. That hunting can kill the battery quick.

This trick worked for me on Verizon. Although Android System is still the biggest battery consumer on my list. I was still able to get 5 hours of SOT and my battery last for almost a full day.
