Are Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge from T-Mobile root-able? I know in the past they came with unlocked bootloaders, do they still come unlocked?

Just so that I am familiar with rooting the T-Mobile S7 Edge, I rooted one of mine successfully. I used Smart Switch to make a backup first. I'm glad I did because I had to restore to the firmware version recommended in that thread so that the phone would even boot up. Once I did, the phone was rooted. I even installed Adaway and had no problems doing anything that requires root.

The best thing about this root method is that it doesn't void the warranty.

Just follow the instructions and it is very easy to do. The above thread I linked to is for the Edge and non Edge versions. All files you need for either are included in a download.

Also, you will no longer receive monthly updates once rooted and the firmware version you will be stuck on is from May.
