Soft keys intermittently not working

My wife picked up a shiny new S7 (NOT the note.....)on the weekend, and one thing she's noticed is that occasionally the soft keys at the bottom (the back key and...the...other....one......) are occasionally unresponsive. anybody come across this before? any idea what the problem is or ideas of fixes?

They don't seem to work too well if you are using a stylus.
