Voicemail Stopping Help

Hey all, so I just discovered this problem yesterday and need a little troubleshooting. I have a Galaxy S7 on Verizon and I think I'm using the Visual Voicemail to retrieve my messages. Problem is when I access the shortcut and hit a message to play, as soon as I life it to my ear it goes back to the lock screen. I've narrowed it down to one of the front sensors. as soon as its covered it does this. I've been researching and have found others thats had this problem with no solution. I have cleared the cache and data in the Voicemail app as well as the system device cache. Problem is still there. Only way to listen to Voicemail is to turn on the speaker, which is not an option. The old way still works though, from the phones keypad, long press on #1 and enter passoword, but thats hard to do sometimes.Thanks for any help.
