I just want to comment on the Best Buy $250 gift card and $200 gift card offer.(total $450 in gift cards) $672 - $200 - $250 = $222. (plus sales tax on the full price of the phone)

I just came back from Best Buy. I traded in a cheap Net10 prepaid non-Android dumbphone that I originally bought from Walmart for $9.99 two years ago.(for the sole purpose of keeping it and using it towards trade-in offers like this) The Best Buy employee entered the model number and IMEI into their trade-in system. It showed up as $2. When he entered the new Samsung Galaxy S7's new Verizon number, the offer skyrocketed from $2 to $200 gift card. She applied the $200 to the device payment plan of the S7, making it $472. She then proceed to ring up everything. I paid the sales tax($61) and then she handed me a $250 gift card. I already spent the $250 gift card buying five $50 Exxon gas gift cards that were hanging by the cash register. Should come in handy for my roadtrip next week. Absolutely awesome deal. :)

I tries to do a similar thing at Best buy but with Sprint. Got all the way to the end after picking out two phones and was then told a $200 down payment per line was needed. I didn't need a down payment on Tmobile, so I walked out. Too bad they had a coral blue S7 edge :(

I traded in an HTC Rezound that I've had for years and got the $200 gift card. That covered taxes, a case, screen protector and memory card. I was pretty pleased.

I had the HTC Rezound a few years ago. Only bought it because of the free Beats earbuds. :) oh, and also because it was only $49 with 2-year contract) Just looked up my Amazon trade-in history.. two weeks after I received the Rezound from Verizon, I traded it to Amazon for $297 Amazon gift card balance(which I used to buy a bedroom 32" TV. (kept the nice Beats earbuds, of course)

How much did the Rezound show up as trade-in value at Best Buy, before they bumped it to $200 for this promotion?

I think they listed the trade in as a whopping$2! I saw last night if I would have waited I could have gotten a $450 card, but $200 for such an old phone was good for me.

$450 total gift cards. ($200 already applied towards DPP balance)

I got the same thing. I traded in a blackberry bold 9650 and a Droid X2 and got 2 $250 for purchasing the s7 edge and 2 $200 for trading in working smartphones. The cashier didn't know a blackberry was a smartphone and she said it was only worth $1.

I think your math is off. $672 phone at retail - $200 gift card for trading in old phone = $472 for the GS7.

After the sale was complete, you were then given a $250 gift card that was spent on gas cards, not the GS7.

So the GS7 cost $472. Granted it is better than full retail.

I spend about $300 a month on gas, so the $250 gift card was just as good as cash to me. YMMV, if you drive a Tesla or something. I should probably look into a Tesla as well, since my 2-year-old Mercedes has a very hungry 8-cylinder engine that only gets about 9mpg mixed city/highway and still gets dusted by a little Tesla very easily. :( When I stop at a red light next to a Tesla now, I pretend to be talking on the phone and avoid eye contact because I don't want to embarrass myself again. Fortunately, my lease ends in less than 11 months. :)

Haha, no Tesla, just a Nissan Armada that doesn't get much better than your Merc

I trade in Moto e Verizon I got last black Friday for $10. Already cancelled the line with Verizon. Once bill comes I'll pay it off. Will use the $450 gift cards on Black Friday. Total cost $290.

I traded a Tmo G1 and got the $200 trade in, so $472 and the BB $250 card. Using my S7 mainly for Gear VR and using my Note 4 as main phone. Note 4 rocks after MM update, stock reset and new battery. S7 though is MUCH better for Gear VR due to better chipset and more dense pixels (less screen door).

Funny thing the one best buy they said 200 down required and at the time I didn't have a trade in. I went back to a different one the next day with an ancient blackberry. Got 200 for that and 250 for going with an s7 edge! Only downside? I picked Sprint. AT&T and Verizon wouldn't work for me. Sprint turned out to be quite a negative move-issues with pin and account access, coverage, and Sprint lying about my discounted option when moving from tmobile (2 lines). Turns out Tmobile was having a great deal for adding new lines, so I took the tmobile phones I still had and got back onto Tmobile at a great rate (have 3 lines with them, got a 4th line free and picked up an S2 that had a $100 off discount. Turned the Sprint phones back in to BestBuy and still walked out with $200 bestbuy giftcard after the returns :) I would have been ok with Sprint had they honored the rate plan quoted to me and had I had no issues registering for online access. For me, Tmobile has always been the best setups good coverage, very easy site to navigate, outstanding rate plans and very flexible options with new phone financing, etc. Their plans are easy as well.
