multiple problems with s7 and or note 5

[AC Question]

I just got "upgraded" from my insurance company from my note 5 to this galaxy s7. Immediately from start up its been just doing weird things. to start off anytime I get a long text I receive it twice. once with a read more button at the bottom then again usually a few minutes later as a multi-text thread. Is there any way to kill this? secondly, I now can't seem to call my wife's phone from this one anymore my texts go through no problem and she calls me without an issue but when i call its two rings and right to voicemail. Also, it seems to never turn off the screen and this phone is already a battery hog. It appears that it only displays time but id much rather it be just off. Any help with all of this would be greatly appreciated.
