Why won't galaxy S7 fast charge anymore

My husband has the same phone as me but just today his phone has stopped fast charging. Cords have been checked with my phone and do indeed fast charge. However, those same cords won't on his. The fast charge option is turned on and no settings have been changed. Any thoughts?

Welcome to Android Central! There could be a problem with his microUSB port. Make sure there's no debris in there. Use a can of compressed air to blow it out, and a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts.
