I have a s-7 with Verizon Nougat update. In the camera settings there are several formats to choose picture size. I want to shoot in the 16.9 format... There are two options. 16.9 (3.7M) 2560x1440 and 16.9 (9.1M) 4032x2268. The last one has a higher resolution. QUESTION is does it crop the photo more and take up more storage space? Will I notice the difference in the photos I take? Any suggestions as to which one is the best choice?

The smaller size is lower resolution, so did you are going to do more than view it on a device (like print it) you will appreciate the higher resolution of the larger photo. The smaller photo will take up less storage but shows the same field of view. It will just be made up of fewer dots.
