i put in a micro sd in my s7 , clicked format, and a message said formatting portable storage to make it secure

does that make sense? it is portable precisely because it has no form of security, and is suited to sharing btwn devices.

is this a copy and paste error from the text for the format internal storage message?

you can see for yourself on your own phones safely , you are asked to confirm format on next screen

Hitting "format" on that screen will encrypt the card and make it readable only by that one device. It will not be swappable with any other devices without reformatting, which will again erase all the data.

how does that explain the 'portable' part? if its not swappable its not portable.

on the other hand, if it is secure, then it is not swappable.... very copnfusing
